St Patrick's Day

We started the day off with green pancakes. The kids were not too sure about this. We don't really "celebrate" St Patrick's Day but I just like to make things fun. Some of us wore green, others refused.

We went out & enjoyed a family walk together in this beautiful spring weather. I say beautiful but it is much cooler than all of you. It was 10 degrees Celsius here today. That is a warm spring day. We still have snow on the lawns but the roads are dry.

People always think of St Patrick's Day as a day of parties with green beer but that is not how it all started. March 17th marks the death of Patrick, a missionary who shared the gospel. He used the shamrock to represent the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy spirit.

As many of you know, green is a not a popular color in our house - our football team is black & orange but for this one day it is okay to wear green:)
