This IS the Day

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice & be glad in it. Do you ever have days that you do not feel like rejoicing? Everyone does. You are not alone but we are instructed to rejoice everyday - the good days & the not so good days.

I am reading "One Thousand Gifts". Today I read:
"Deep joy is found only at the table of thanksgiving. As long as thanks is possible, then joy is always possible."

Ann Voskamp, the author of this book has a blog A Holy Experience. Each month she posts a calendar & each day you are to look for 3 things to be thankful for(as specified on the calendar) It is like going on a little scavenger hunt each day. It is so easy for us to see the negative, the things that are wrong. We take so much for granted. This is an opportunity to look for the good & live a life of gratefulness.

At the beginning of the new year, our family started a "Blessings Jar". This jar is for adding things that make us smile, laugh, things that are "blessings". At the end of the year we will dump it out & reflect on the year.

May I encourage you to live a life of gratefulness & join me in living a life of joy.

"As long as thanks is possible then                        joy is always possible"
