Luke 2:13, 14:
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
Peace on earth. How's that working at your house?
Christmas is just a few days away. Is there peace in your world? Are you busy preparing for the holidays? Have you been working for weeks trying to put up decorations? Then you are sidetracked with baking that needs to be done or gifts needing to be wrapped. Or are you too busy with Christmas parties and programs to enjoy the season? Or have you received some bad news lately?
Peace on earth.
Do you feel at peace or more like chaos on earth?
Peace on Earth. The Saviour is Born.
That's right, he came to give peace to all men(and women) and what an awesome gift that is: the peace of God. It doesn't mean that there won't be chaos in your world.
We can slow our pace, cut out a few things, stay at home more, miss a party, bake a few less cookies, or find ways to reduce your level of stress.
But, face it: life is a full-time job. It's hard to say, "No." Not impossible, but hard. However, even though your life during these last few hectic days before Christmas is full and overflowing with activity, peace on earth is possible.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10,11)
Peace on earth. A Savior is born.
The Savior is with us. Let there be peace.
